What is personal development?
Personal Development can be described as the process of improving and strengthening various facets of one’s personality with the aim to grow as a person. Personal Development can be differentiated into self-development and self-growth for individuals that want to improve or strengthen their personality, a talent or characteristic and personal development for professionals (including students and trainees) who seek to strengthen their professional skills and abilities.
What’s a “Blog”? Is this a blog?
“Blog” is the short form of “weblog” that is a fusing of “web” and “log”. A blog can be anything – a digital journal, personal diary, a platform for individuals to express their thoughts and opinions or even a political stage. The newest articles of a blog can be found at the main website. And yes, this is a personal development blog.
When did you write your first article here on POS?
In June 4th, 2010. The article can be found here.
However, please have in mind that my writing style has changed a little bit over the years. Some of my first articles might not be of the quality my recent articles are. I simply did not know how to write a good article at that time.
What topics does this Personal Development Blog cover?
I’m posting articles of such a huge variety that there is no general topic that could sum up everything I write about. The “Categories” list at the left-hand site should give you a good overview of the topics that this blog covers. Everything I’m writing about is in some way related to self-growth and personal development, but I’ve also published articles related to student affairs or business topics. Furthermore, you can also have a look at the archive of my blog for a better overview, which lists all my articles in a chronological order, within their respective categories.
How can I subscribe with your site? Is there a RSS-Feed?
Sure, I would be delighted if you choose to subscribe with my site. You can find the RSS-feed for this website by visiting: http://feeds.feedburner.com/Planetofsuccess or alternatively, simply by clicking on that small orange button, right beneath the search function!
I like the photos in your articles, can I use them?
Unfortunately, I’m not the most talented photographer and I don’t have a single-lens reflex camera, which is why I mostly use pictures of professional photographers that publish their great work under a Creative Commons License. You will find beneath every article the note “Photo by XYZ” with a credit link to the photographer. By following this link you will find under what circumstances you are allowed to use one of the pictures and for what purpose you can use these images. As a general rule of thumb: you have to visit the photographer’s site for more information about an image.
Sometimes, I will be shooting a photo of my own or self-create an image that I will use in an article. You are free to use these images for every purpose whatsoever, if a credit link to this site (https://www.planetofsuccess.com/blog/) is given! You can see a lot of my freely available pictures here:
Feel free to have a look at these pictures! I hope you like them!
Why are there no religious topics / articles?
Well, having a website and being able to publish articles that help people is an honor for me, but with this honor there comes also a huge responsibility. This responsibility is very complex, but it certainly includes the awareness that everything I write could influence at least one person. Having this in mind it becomes necessary for me to know what my role is when I’m writing on this blog: I want to help people to develop many facets of their personality, talents, skills and enable them to live a happy life. However, I don’t want to “force”/seduce people into a specific religious conception or atheism. In general, I don’t want to impose a specific world view on my readers.
I’m convinced about religious freedom; it doesn’t matter for me if someone is a Christ, Moslem, Hindu, Jew, Confucian, Buddhist, Atheist, (enter a list with the most common religions here…). As long as a person does others no harm I’m perfectly happy. I don’t judge people from the religion they believe in or the color of their skin. I estimate people based on their actions; not on prejudices about their origin, skin or religion.
Do you offer coaching? How much is your rate?
I really appreciate your trust in me, but I – unfortunately – have to tell you that I’m not a personal development coach and I don’t offer coaching. I believe something that makes this blog so valuable is the fact that I have a full-time life besides this web presence, which allows me to include the valuable experiences I make in my life here in this blog. The fact that I’m not a self-proclaimed personal development guru/expert gives me the freedom of not having a commercial interest in this website. This also includes the fact that I’m not coaching people for money.
Your site is awesome. I want to buy it! How much?
I’m not interested in selling this website.
Can I write a guest post for you?
I am no longer accepting guest articles on this site. I’m sorry for this, but the amount of spam and/or low-quality articles with links to dubious sites was simply unnerving and a pain. If you want to write a guest article for this site that contains no credit links I will consider making an exception for you.
Yes, sure. However, please keep in mind that during the time when my blog was relatively new I accepted nearly every guest post, if it provided some help. However, nowadays the inquiries for guest spots have increased and I became more selective, when it comes to guest posts, as I want to provide my readers the best quality possible. So, feel free to submit an amazing article, but if you came here just to grab a backlink to your site or to submit a standard article of the shelf you’re most likely wasting your time. You can submit your guest article via email (serviceATplanetofsuccess.com, please replace AT with @). Thanks!
Will you write a guest post for my blog?
I would love to write a guest post for your blog under specific conditions. You can contact me for a guest post on your blog, however my time is very limited, which is why I might not be able to write a guest article for every request.
Is the republication/translation of your content allowed?
In general, the answer is no. However, you can feel free to quote a statement or a couple of paragraphs of an article, if a credit link (dofollow) to this site (http://www.planetofusccess.com/blog/ is given. Same applies to translations of my content. It’s not permitted to use any of my articles for commercial purposes or as a part of a book, eBook or any other product, if you do not have my written permission.
Something you should really not do is to translate or republish a substantial amount of an article, without giving credit to the source and making your readers clear that I wrote the article. Please note that I speak a couple of other languages besides English …
Can I at least share your article with some colleagues, friends and fellow students “offline”?
Of course! You can reprint and share any of my articles with your friends, colleagues, etc. IF a copyright statement that references this site to be the original source is given.

… if you are interested in reprinting an article of mine in a newspaper, magazine, book, newsletter or anywhere else. Make sure to include the title/link of the article you are interested in and provide me some information about the company, newspaper, etc. you are working for.
